Nguyen Thi Huyen triumphed in the women's 400m event with a time of 60.02 secs.
In addition, Huyen, Vu Thi Men, Nguyen Thi Thuy and Nguyen Thi Oanh took gold medal in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:44.49. They won bronze medals in the same event in the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia in 2011 with a time of 3:45.03.
Earlier, Pham Thi Diem grabbed a gold medal in the women's high jump after clearing the bar at 1.91m.
Three other gold medals went to Tran Hue Hoa (women's triple jump), Nguyen Thi Oanh (women's 400m hurdles) and Duong Van Thai (men's 1,500m).
The two-day event, which attracted 13 strong teams from around the world, gave the Vietnamese athletes more skills and experience in preparation for the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar in December.
