(ĐN)- The Buddhist Shangha’s Executive Board of Dong Nai province held a solemn ceremony late last week in Bien Hoa city to celebrate Lord Buddha's 2557th birthday.
Present at the event were representatives of agencies and Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers in the province.
The province’s Buddhist Shangha organized street parades and processions with flowers to mark the 2557th birthday of Lord Buddha, visited and presented gifts to soldiers and people in Truong Sa island. Besides, a requiem was held to pray for national peace and commemorate heroic martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for protecting the independence and peace of the country.
On this occasion, the Buddhist Shangha’s Executive Board handed over two charity houses to poor households in Bien Hoa city and Dinh Quan district, visited and gave gifts to heroic mothers, presented 50 bicycles to students with difficult circumstances in the city.
