(ĐN)- A meeting to deploy the plan for the death anniversary of the Hung Kings has been held by Bien Hoa city People's Committee. Accordingly, various activities will be organized across the province to celebrate the festival.

The 2-day event will feature a wide range of activities, including a Chung and Giay (Square and Round) cake making competition, dragon-and-phoenix-shaped fruit decoration, art performance and Xoan singing programme on April 18 (March 10 of the Lunar Year)

The main ceremony, held on April 19 (March 10 of the Lunar Year), will include Chung and Giay cakes and incense-offering ceremonies to Hung Kings.

The Worship of Hung Kings was recognised as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity at the seventh session of the UNESCO committee in Paris on December 6, 2012.

Vietnamese legends recount the rule of the 18 Hung King dynasties during the first period of Vietnamese history, between 2879-258 BC. The worshipping rituals are closely related to the worship of ancestors that is a tradition of most Vietnamese families and an important part of the people's spiritual lives.
