An annual open cycling tournament took place on Vo Van Kiet Street in Ho Chi Minh City by the city’s organizating panel of festival days on December 29th.

An annual open cycling tournament took place on Vo Van Kiet Street in Ho Chi Minh City by the city’s organizating panel of festival days on December 29th.

The event drew the participation of more than 180 cyclists from 25 teams from provinces and cities of Long An, Vinh Long, Dong Nai, Bai Ria-Vung Tau, Tien Giang, An Giang and the host.

The participants were divided into three age groups for different distances, including age groups of 20-34 and 35-45 for 54km, and over 46 for 27km, in the individual and team categories.

At the end of the competition, cyclist Vo Ngoc Minh from Loc Tai Team and the Dragon House Wharf Club won first prizes in the over 46 age group event, while cyclist Hoang Minh Tuan (District 7 Team) and District 7 Club, and Nguyen Thanh Vu (Long Xuyen-An Giang Club) and Loc Tai Club ranked first in 20-34 and 35-45 groups, respectively.

The tournament aims to improve cyclists’ professionalism as well as promote cycling movement in the City in particular, and the country in general.
