Vietnam jumps two notches in FIFA rankings

The national men’s football squad has advanced two positions to 138th in the latest November rankings of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

Spain and Germany have placed first and second respectively overall.

Argentina has overcome Portugal to come third. The top ten also includes Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Colombia, Russia, and Croatia. 

In the Asian region, Vietnam claimed 19th place. The three leading positions went to Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Australia. 

The national team topped the Southeast Asian region rankings after Thailand dropped seven notches to 146th, languishing behind even the Philippines. 

Other Southeast Asian nations retain their positions, with Myanmar (156th), Malaysia and Singapore (163rd), Indonesia (165th), Laos (179th), Brunei and Timor Leste (tied at 187th), and Cambodia (191st).    

The next FIFA rankings will be announced on December 19.
