(ĐN)- The 20th art photography festival of the South-eastern region was held in Binh Thuan province from October 22 to 24. The event was co-organised by the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists and Binh Thuan province’s Literature and Arts Association.

Themed “The Land and People of the South Eastern Region”, the festival featured images of nature, and diverse cultures of people in the south-eastern region.
This year’s festival attracted 1,571 colour and black-and-white photos taken by 244 photographers from eight provinces of Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh. These included 208 works by 35 photographers from Dong Nai.
The jury board selected the best 151 photos for display at an exhibition during the festival, and awarded one gold, two silver, four bronze medals and six consolation prizes to 13 photos.
Chan Nuoi Ga (Raising Chicken) by photographer Do Van Luu from Dong Nai took the gold medal, and But Top (Reaching the top rank) by Nguyen Dinh Quoc Van received a bronze. Dong Nai was awarded a team prize in recognition of its number of entries and photos selected for display.
At the festival, the organizers also launched a marathon photo contest with the theme “The contrast”. Dong Nai’s photographers won the first, second and third prizes at the contest.
