An exhibition of Vietnamese sand paintings will take place in Birmingham City, the UK on July 7.
The event is co-organised by the UK’s OST, Ltd. Company and the Phuong Vy Sand Paintings Company, as part of activities to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee in the West Midlands.
The highlight of the exhibition is the Queen’s 1.25mx0.9m portrait by artisan Thuy Van, which is a copy of UK famous painter Leonard Boden’s oil painting depicting her noble beauty soon after her coronation.

Van used sand of 10 different colours (80 percent natural) for her painting to make her majesty’s dress become lively and vivid.
The 160kg painting took her more than two months to complete and it was framed with strengthened glass and aluminum for eternal use.

At the exhibition, another Vietnamese sand artist Tri Duc will give an impressive 30-minute presentation on the Queen’s rule over the past 60 years.
He has carefully studied the Royal Family’s documents to highlight the Queen’s most imminent and memorable moments and select appropriate music for every scene to satisfy even the strictest UK audience.

This unique art appeared first in Vietnam more than a decade and has been of special interest to many celebrities in the UK.
Millionaire Kevin Green has agreed to be a curator for the exhibition.
