(ĐN)- On Feb 8, Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to make public the Management Board of Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve, headed by Nguyen Thanh Tri, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee.
The management board of 16 members will conduct research and propose solutions to the People’s Committee regarding problems related to activities in the biosphere reserve.
Covering 969ha, Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve comprises Cat Tien National Park , Dong Nai Natural and Cultural Reserve and Tri An Reservoir.
The reserve is home to 1,700 rare plants and more than 700 animals, many of which are on the IUCN Red List of endangered animals, including the one-horned rhino and pheasant.
It is also the homeland for 11 ethnic minorities and a model for multipurpose preservation offering the sustainable development of both people and the environment based on biological and cultural diversity.
