More than 300 athletes will compete at the National Dance Sport Championship at Hai Phong Gymnasium on October 22-23, the Viet Nam Gymnastic Federation said yesterday.
Dancers from Ha Noi, HCM City, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and Thanh Hoa will perform in 60 classic and modern dance events.
The annual championship will be the national team's final test before they compete in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia next month.
The performance team will be paying their own way at the SEA Games, as will the Vietnamese basketball, mountain climbing, baseball, roller sport and synchronised swimming squads.
So far, 593 Vietnamese athletes are scheduled to take part in the Southeast Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang from November 11-25.
