Three Vietnamese martial arts will compete at the pre-Southeast Asian (SEA) Games Tarung Derajat Tournament held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 18-20.
The event will attract the participation of martial artists from six ASEAN nations.
Tarung Derajat is a new event to be held for the first time at the upcoming 26th SEA Games in Indonesia this November.
The martial art comprises stand-up and full-contact martial art from Indonesia, created by Haji Achmad Drajat based on experience as a street fighter. The kung fu includes influences from karate and pencak silat while emphasizing punching, kicking, grappling and sweeping methods among others.
