Under coach Trieu Quang Ha, the Vietnamese team smashed their Indonesian rivals 6-1, with three goals in the first half and another three in the second half.
The same day, the host Myanmar had a convincing win over Brunei after striking six goals into their rivals’ net.
Group B consists of Vietnam, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos and host Myanmar.
With seven points after two wins and one draw, the Vietnamese team will meet Laos in its final match on September 16.
