The Vietnamese Embassy and students in the Netherlands have attended the International Community Fair 2011 themed, “Feel at home in the Hague” hosted by The HagueOnline organization.
Through many photos, handicrafts and books, the Vietnamese Embassy staff and students introduced international friends to the land and people of Vietnam as well as the country’s socio-economic development and its policies to overcome the adverse impact of the global financial crisis.
Traditional dance performances given by Vietnamese students received enthusiastic applause from visitors to the fair.
On the occasion, The HagueOnline, a sponsor for activities of overseas communities in the Hague, worked with the Vietnamese Embassy to publish 15,000 pamphlets themed, “The Fair Magazine 2011”, which has a full-page coverage of Vietnam.
More than 90 stands from 150 domestic and international cultural and sports organisations drew about 3,000 visitors, mainly from the Dutch cities of Amsterdam, the Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
Overseas students and people from Thailand, Malaysia and Ireland also gathered at the fair to introduce their special cultures, sports and cuisine.
