A signing ceremony for the translation and publication of the late war doctor Dang Thuy Tram’s diary in Russia was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow on August 24.

Attending the ceremony were Ambassador Pham Xuan Son, Do Quy Duong, a representative from Thang Long Garment Joint Stock Company and Prof, Dr. Sokolov from the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies.

The translation of the diary was initiated by the Thang Long company leaders to help Russian friends understand the Vietnamese struggle in the resistance war against the US imperialists.

Prof, Dr. Sokolov, who will translate the diary, expressed his delight at the cultural cooperation between the two countries and hoped that more Vietnamese works will be introduced to Russian people.

The book is expected to be completed by June 2012 and published in time to mark the war doctor’s death.

It will then be presented to the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Russian War Veteran Association, the Moscow Peace Committee and a high school in Russia.
