Y Lan Sand Painting Co., hosted the exhibition with the theme ‘Hundred years of a hero’s spirit’, portraying images of General Giap, who was the most prominent military commander besides Ho Chi Minh during the revolutionary wars and has helped to protect and construct the country.

There are 30 works arranged into a star shape, featuring six main themes, including the General with Dien Bien Phu, the big brother of the military, the great commander-in-chief, the excellent pupil of Ho Chi Minh, a talented and virtuous one, and a popular man.

Every work is made from natural sand. Artist Y Lan said that all the works were carried out based on documentation of his revolutionary activities as well as his great contributions to the country.

The show is a chance for Vietnam’s youth to gain a better insight into the life and career of the first General of the Vietnamese military, along with the miraculous victory of the nation in the August Revolution in 1945.

The event runs until Friday at HCMC Exhibition House, 92 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1 and will then move to Hanoi on August 24-28.
