(ĐN)- The 9th Football Cup for Children aged 11 kicked off on Tuesday morning at Dong Nai’s Sporting Hall. The annual event is co-organised by Dong Nai Newspaper and Dong Nai Department of Sports and Physical Training.

The teams, divided into 4 groups, will play in a round-robin league in the first round. The top two teams of each group will compete in the second round, with the winners going into the next round. The final round will take place on Sunday morning.
The prizes will be awarded to top three winners with 1st receiving a gold medal, 2nd place a silver medal and 3rd place a bronze medal. The overall winner will win VND 8 million cash while the second prize winner will get VND 6 million in cash and two third prize winners will each receive VND 3 million in cash. In addition to cash prizes, the winners of the football tournament will be presented with cups and flags. Furthermore, many other awards will be given for the most outstanding footballer, the best goalkeeper, excellent referee and the player who scores the most goals during the 2011 Dong Nai Newspaper Children Football Cup.
After the opening ceremony, Bien Hoa 1 team competed with Long Thanh team in the group B, Cam My team against Long Khanh team and Dinh Quan team with Nhon Trach team in group C, and Trang Bom team with xuan Loc team in group D.
