70 works win prizes at children’s painting competition 2011

(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Children’s House, in co-operation with the Provincial Youth Union yesterday held an awards ceremony for the winners of the children’s  painting competition 2011.

The 2011 painting contest under the theme of “Children alert to drugs” received more than 6,300 paintings from children in nine districts, Long Khanh town, Bien Hoa city and the Centre for Handicapped Children in Bien Hoa city. 188 works were selected for the final round.

A total of 70 works won awards, including 10 A prizes, 20 B prizes, 20 C prizes and 20 consoliation prizes.

The event, organised by the Dong Nai Children’s House, aimed to respond to anti-drug drawing contest launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The contest is open to children under the age of 15 throughout the country. It aims to increase awareness among children about the harmful effects of drugs.
