(ĐN)- The 2011 National Children’s Forum took place in Hanoi from August 8-10 with the participation of 184 children aged 10-16 from 30 provinces and cities across the country. Among the Forum’s participants there were six representatives of Dong Nai province.

The event, entitled “Children and a safe and friendly environment”, was jointly held by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children.

The forum provided an opportunity for the participants, who represented 24 million children nationwide, to present their ideas on building a safe, friendly and healthy environment for their own futures.

The event also helped policymakers understand more about Vietnamese children’s feelings, thoughts and aspirations, so they could supplement and modify laws and policies to protect children's rights.

Within the framework of the National Forum for Children, the participating children had direct dialogues with Party, State and Government leaders.

Representatives from Dong Nai raised their concerns about high study pressure, the growing trend of violence at schools, policies to protect the rights of disabled children.

During the three day forum, representatives from Dong Nai participated in painting contest, and had the opportunity to interact with other forum participants…
