Long Thanh Airport is being built on an area of more than 5,000 hectares, with a target capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo per year once all phases are completed. The airport is expected to have a workforce of more than 1,000 employees.
According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, four recruitment drives have been conducted since the beginning of 2026, bringing in more than 220 new employees and increasing the airport's total workforce to approximately 400.
Under the plan, Phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport is officially scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2026. To ensure sufficient personnel for airport operations, the project management board is currently recruiting for 11 positions, including drivers and ground equipment operators; technical equipment maintenance and repair staff; apron inspection and supervision staff; and airfield cleaning staff.
Positions at Long Thanh Airport require applicants to have at least a high school diploma, with professional qualifications ranging from a technical intermediate diploma to a university degree or higher. Applicants must also have an English proficiency level of at least TOEIC 300 or equivalent. All positions offer a monthly income of at least VND 13 million per employee.
Experience from previous recruitment drives at Long Thanh Airport shows that while most applicants meet the required professional qualification standards, many have yet to meet foreign-language requirements and lack essential skills. Meanwhile, Long Thanh Airport is being developed as a regional transit hub, with international passengers expected to account for the majority of traffic. Therefore, employees working at the airport will need a high level of foreign-language proficiency and strong cross-cultural communication skills.
After recruitment, employees will undergo internal training courses and periodic retraining to ensure workforce quality. In preparation for the upcoming trial-operation phase, employees will also participate in drills covering various scenarios to develop job-related skills and familiarize themselves with automated baggage-handling systems, automated control gates, and next-generation screening equipment.
