Le Van Hong, Director of GO! Dong Nai Supermarket in Long Hung Ward said customer traffic increased by around 10-15% during the first two days of the holiday compared with a normal weekend. However, as this year's holiday break is relatively long, many families are expected to return to their hometowns or travel, which could affect consumer demand in the days ahead.

Similarly, Trang Phuc, a representative of the Marketing Department of Co.opmart Bien Hoa in Tam Hiep Ward, said shopping demand at the supermarket during the first days of the National Day holiday increased by around 10-15% compared with a normal weekend. The increase was relatively modest, however, because prolonged rainy weather in recent days had affected the number of customers visiting and shopping at the supermarket.

Many supermarkets and shopping malls across the city have launched major consumer stimulus programs to attract customers during the holiday, including a number of campaigns promoting Vietnamese goods and local specialties.

In particular, the Co.opmart supermarket chain has launched a series of activities under its “30 Years of Pride in Vietnamese Supermarkets” program, with various promotional and consumer-stimulus initiatives organized around different themes. In addition to direct discounts, customers can enjoy preferential pricing when purchasing in bulk and save up to 30% on product bundles, making it easier to prepare for the holiday.

Meanwhile, GO!'s supermarket chain nationwide, including GO! Dong Nai and GO! Tan Hiep in Dong Nai City, is running the “Proud of Vietnamese Specialties” 2026 festival to celebrate National Day, while helping stimulate consumer demand and strengthen the promotion of regional specialties. The program offers consumers an opportunity to shop for more than 200 specialty products and One Commune One Product (OCOP) products from regions across the country. Featured products from southern localities include green-skin, pink-flesh pomelos from Dong Nai and Can Tho, Nam Roi pomelos from Vinh Long, Xiem coconuts from Vinh Long and Dong Thap, Hoa Loc mangoes from Dong Thap, five-color rice vermicelli from Dong Thap, white-leg shrimp and sea crabs from Ca Mau, basa fish from Dong Thap, as well as king oranges and pia cakes from Can Tho.
