The project's revised investment policy has been approved, while its basic design is currently under appraisal. Final approval is expected by the end of June 2026.

The drainage project forms part of the Phase 1 drainage works outside the Long Thanh International Airport boundary, which was approved by the Dong Nai City People's Committee in September 2025. The overall scheme consists of two component projects: the Phase 1 drainage project, with a total investment of more than VND836 billion and the land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement project, with a total investment of more than VND436 billion.

Project Management Board of Region 5 has been appointed as the project investor. Meanwhile, the Long Thanh branch of the Dong Nai City Land Fund Development Center is responsible for the land acquisition, compensation and resettlement component.

The project covers improvement works along Bung Mon Stream, approximately 12.6 kilometers long, and Da Vang Stream, approximately 6.8 kilometers long. The works include dredging, embankment reinforcement, construction of service roads, sidewalks and landscaping.

Meanwhile, relevant agencies are preparing the feasibility study for the land acquisition project under the compensation, support and resettlement component.
