The announcement that Dong Nai Province will host the Golden Cashew Festival 2026 in mid-April has attracted great attention from residents. The festival is expected to take place over two days, April 17–18, 2026, at the Qua Dieu Vang (Golden Cashew Apple) Ecotourism Area owned by Vinh Phuc Joint Stock Company in Dong Tam Commune.

Excitement and pride are the prevailing sentiments among cashew growers, as well as businesses and establishments engaged in purchasing, processing, and exporting cashew products across the province when speaking of the festival.

Following the merger with Binh Phuoc Province, Dong Nai now has nearly 176,000 hectares of cashew plantations, accounting for more than 50% of the country’s total cashew area. It also has the largest number of enterprises engaged in cashew processing and export, as well as the highest production output in the country. For this reason, Dong Nai is widely known as Vietnam’s cashew capital and processing hub.

Sixteen years ago, in 2010,  the first Vietnam Golden Cashew Festival - Binh Phuoc was held in Dong Xoai Town (formerly in Binh Phuoc Province). The upcoming event marks the second time the festival is being organized.

The festival aims to promote the Dong Nai cashew brand, stimulate demand, and attract visitors to explore, experience, and consume local cashew products. It also affirms the important role of the cashew industry in the province’s agricultural economy, while honoring farmers, cooperatives, and businesses that have made significant contributions to the sector.

At the same time, the festival will serve as a platform for farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises to meet, exchange experiences, and establish partnerships to expand markets. Additionally, the festival will be developed into a characteristic cultural tourism activity of the locality…

Previously, Binh Phuoc was known as the “cashew capital” of Vietnam, with nearly 150,000 hectares of cashew plantations. The cashew tree has long been closely associated with local people and was once considered a key crop for poverty reduction among ethnic minority communities.

Thanks to their deep connection with the cashew tree, people in Binh Phuoc have created many products from cashew fruit, shells, and kernels. Fresh cashew fruit is used in cooking, for making cashew wine, and as a refreshing drink during long harvest days under the harsh sun of the southeastern region. Cashew shells are valuable industrial by-products used in the production of plastics, paints, and adhesives, as well as a high-quality biomass fuel. Cashew kernels are a major export commodity, helping Vietnam maintain its position as the world’s leading processor and exporter of cashews for many consecutive years, with export turnover surpassing the record 5 billion USD mark in 2025.

Dong Nai cashews are renowned as the most delicious in Vietnam, and Vietnamese cashews are among the finest in the world.

With such significant value, the festival is expected to serve as a meaningful tribute to the cashew tree, honoring and promoting the Dong Nai cashew brand as a distinctive cultural identity of the province. It aims to ensure that whenever people think of cashews, they think of Dong Nai, and whenever they visit Dong Nai, they think of cashews and their processed products.
