On the morning of March 23, Dong Nai Power Company, in coordination with relevant units, successfully energized and put into operation the second transformer (with a capacity of 40 MVA) at the Tan An 110kV Substation in Tan An Commune, Dong Nai Province.

The second transformer at Tan An 110kV Substation, Tan An commune, is successfully energized and begins operation on March 23.
The second transformer at Tan An 110kV Substation, Tan An commune, is successfully energized and begins operation on March 23.

The completion of this component has increased the total capacity of the substation to 80 MVA, making an important contribution to implementing the 110kV power grid development plan of Dong Nai Province for the 2021–2030 period.

The project has a total investment of nearly VND36 billion, including the installation of a 40 MVA transformer, a 110kV switchyard system, and modern medium-voltage cabinets. The substation is designed as an unmanned facility, integrating a SCADA system and advanced communication technologies, allowing remote control and continuous monitoring of operations.

The operation of the second transformer helps meet the increasing electricity demand in Tan An Commune and surrounding areas, while ensuring safe and stable power supply for Tan An Industrial Cluster, Tan An Building Materials Industrial Cluster, and Thien Tan Industrial Cluster.

Across the province, increasing the capacity of the Tan An 110kV Substation also helps reduce the load on existing substations such as Thanh Phu, Tan Hoa, Bac Son, and Vinh An. This contributes to reducing power losses and improving voltage quality in the region.

Notably, the project enables the Dong Nai power grid to meet the N-1 reliability standard, ensuring continuous power supply even if a piece of equipment fails, thereby minimizing the risk of widespread outages and supporting stable production and daily activities of local residents.
