This was the directive of Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, at the online meeting on March 2 of the Dong Nai Provincial Economic Census Steering Committee 2026 with localities regarding the economic census tasks being carried out in the province.

Phase 1 of the economic census in the province began on January 8, 2026. Accordingly, this phase focuses on surveying individual production and business establishments, religious and belief establishments, and cooperatives, with a scale of approximately 225,000 production establishments and individual business households, and nearly 1,700 religious and belief establishments.
According to the report of the Dong Nai Provincial Economic Census Steering Committee 2026, despite numerous directive documents, the implementation progress in some localities is still slow. As of 8:00 a.m. on March 2, the completion rate of various survey forms across the province remained low. Specifically: information collection for individual production and business establishments reached only 79.12%; religious and belief establishments 63.66%; and cooperatives 67.41%. Only 57 out of 95 communes and wards have completed 80% or more of their assigned tasks. Dong Nai's current average completion rate is significantly lower than the national average of 84%, with many other provinces already exceeding 95%.

According to the general national requirement, the deadline for completing Phase 1 of the census with the aforementioned tasks is March 10. If there are no drastic directive measures, increased inspection, supervision, and specific progress commitments in the remaining days, there is a risk that phase 1 will not be completed on time.
To urgently complete the task, Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested relevant departments, agencies, and localities to coordinate closely, clearly demonstrating the responsibility of the person in charge and the heads. By the beginning of March 10, the Dong Nai Provincial Statistics Office must synthesize the data on task completion from all localities; no locality or unit is allowed to be late.
Therefore, communes and wards need to drastically accelerate the progress of information collection, mobilize maximum participating forces; promptly replace enumerators who have not yet surveyed establishments and some enumerators who have surveyed a small number but cannot arrange time to continue surveying; and increase support for areas with large workloads and slow progress.
The provincial leader also requested a commitment to ensure the completion of tasks in accordance with the plans of the Central and provincial authorities. Simultaneously, more efforts should be made on training and implementation of tasks for phase 2 of the census for enterprises, non-public service units, associations, and non-governmental organizations located in the area.
