Diversifying trade promotion activities

In order to enable businesses to proactively implement diverse and attractive promotional programs, helping consumers access quality goods and services at reasonable prices, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has launched the National Concentrated Trade Promotion Program 2025 (Vietnam Grand Sale 2025), running from December 1, 2025 to January 18, 2026 nationwide.

The most notable highlight of the program is that traders and enterprises are allowed to apply promotional discounts of up to 100% of the value of goods and services, instead of the usual 50% cap. Vietnam Grand Sale 2025 is expected to further spread the spirit of the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” in the new context, while fostering a smarter, more economical consumer culture that supports high-quality Vietnamese products. At the same time, the program aims to create a healthy competitive environment, encouraging enterprises to continuously innovate in production and business activities.

In Dong Nai, departments, sectors and local authorities have stepped up support for enterprises and local entities of OCOP (One Commune, One Product) program in product promotion, brand development and integration into distribution and retail chains both inside and outside the province.

According to the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, in 2025 the center coordinated with relevant agencies to organize numerous activities supporting local enterprises in participating in trade promotion events within and beyond the province. Notably, it connected 120 cooperatives and cooperative groups in localities across the province with the Dau Giay agricultural and food wholesale market in Dau Giay Commune; supported enterprises in joining the OCOP Specialty Week in Ho Chi Minh City and the Trade Union Lunar New Year (Tet) Market. In addition, the center continued to assist with management costs and the effective operation of OCOP product display and sales points, while promoting communication and digital transformation to strengthen the application of information technology in multi-channel trade promotion.

During the recent Tet of the Horse 2026, alongside price stabilization programs and efforts to ensure the supply of essential goods, many enterprises in the province intensified activities to promote Vietnamese goods and local products.

Nguyen Quoc Minh, Director of Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket in Binh Phuoc ward, said that in January 2026 the supermarket organized two mobile sales trips to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, serving residents in remote areas during the Tet holiday. The trips supplied essential goods from five categories: processed food, fresh food, household chemicals, home appliances and garments, with a total value of around 200 million VND.

“These activities are aimed at responding to the campaign ‘Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods’, while also delivering Vietnamese products directly to consumers in rural and remote areas,” Minh emphasized.

Expanding promotion and distribution channels for local products

The Dong Nai People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 67/KH-UBND dated February 4, 2026 on investment, trade and tourism promotion, enterprise support and event organization for 2026.

Accordingly, in terms of trade promotion, the province will actively participate in linkage programs organized by central authorities, especially in business matching between enterprises and distributors or importers at home and abroad. It will also enhance its role as a focal point in organizing key trade promotion programs in both domestic and international markets. Furthermore, Dong Nai will promote the development of key product chains such as cashew, pepper, coffee, rubber, fruits, bird’s nest, handicrafts and other typical local products. Direct support will be provided to organizations, individuals, enterprises, cooperatives and production and business establishments to maintain traditional markets, develop new ones and expand distribution channels through supermarket and retail systems.

Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of Nga Bien Import-Export Co., Ltd. in Xuan Hoa commune, expressed hope that in the coming time, departments, relevant units and local authorities would continue to implement more support programs for enterprises in trade promotion and OCOP product marketing, while enhancing business matching activities both within and outside the province and promoting e-commerce development.

According to the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the department has implemented trade promotion and consumer stimulus activities through the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” as well as trade fairs and supply-demand connection programs inside and outside the province. In 2026, the department will further accelerate trade promotion efforts, support enterprises and production establishments in product promotion, expand export markets and boost domestic consumption.

Speaking at the conference to deploy tasks for Dong Nai’s industry and trade sector in 2026, held in January 2026, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Kim Long stressed that in 2026 the sector must closely coordinate with departments and localities to develop wholesale markets and modern commercial centers, form an efficient distribution network and strengthen links between production, circulation and consumption. Furthermore, it should continue to promote e-commerce and the digital economy, helping enterprises expand markets, diversify distribution channels and enhance competitiveness amid deeper international integration.
