Trade connection and tourism promotion activities associated with local signature products and One Commune, One Product (OCOP) items contribute to helping businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities in communes and wards, especially those in remote areas of Dong Nai, introduce and develop their markets.

Bringing local products closer to consumers

In recent years, provincial departments, agencies, units and local authorities across the province have stepped up trade connection and promotion activities that enable Vietnamese brands, local signature products, and OCOP goods to access wider markets.

Nguyen Van Kien, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Tan Quan Commune, noted that support for participating in trade promotion and e-commerce development programs has enabled local OCOP producers establish connections, expand their markets while bringing their products closer to consumers both within and beyond the province.

Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of Dak Lua Commune People's Committee, highlighted that the locality boasts a range of strong agricultural products, including specialty rice, pomelos, and sericulture-based goods. The commune aims to integrate agricultural development with tourism promotion in the near future. She expressed hope that relevant departments and agencies will continue supporting trade promotion and e-commerce initiatives, particularly in remote areas like Dak Lua, to help local products access new markets.

According to the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, the province, in the coming time, will prioritize promoting key product groups such as specialty fruits, processed agricultural goods, typical rural industrial products, and OCOP items. At the same time, initiatives under the “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods” campaign will be expanded, including programs to bring Vietnamese products to rural areas and industrial zones, as well as establishing sales points and display centers for OCOP products, especially in remote communes in the province.

Linking tourism development with promoting local products

In recent times, many localities in the province have focused on integrating local product promotion into community-based tourism initiatives. These include modern agricultural models combined with orchard tourism and eco-tourism.

Dang Tuong Khanh, Director of Ca Cao Trong Duc Company Limited in Phu Hoa Commune, said the company has focused on enhancing the value of local cocoa products. A key initiative is the “Cocoa World” stopover site, which introduces visitors to the story of the development of the cocoa-growing region and the cocoa product brand. The site also serves as a place to promote OCOP products while connecting with nearby tourist destinations.

In 2026, the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will continue prioritizing the development of eco-tourism, agricultural tourism, and cultural-historical tourism. The goal is to gradually build a tourism brand for the province, leveraging its natural resources, geographic location, and distinctive local products.

In mid-March 2026, the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center organized a conference to disseminate regulations on investment, trade, and tourism promotion in clusters and areas of communes and wards throughout the province. The event provided an opportunity to enhance two-way information exchange in investment, trade, and tourism activities, enabling localities, associations, and businesses to better access information, share experiences, and improve the effectiveness of their investment, trade, and tourism promotion activities.

At the conference, Tran Quang Binh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bu Gia Map Commune, emphasized the area’s strong potential for forest and community-based tourism. Notably, the eco-tourism product at Bu Gia Map National Park Ecological Tourist Area by the Propaganda, Tourism, and Conservation Rescue Center (Bu Gia Map National Park) has been rated as a three-star OCOP tourism product. In the coming time, the commune hopes to connect with tourism promotion programs, conferences, and training sessions, along with tourism survey tours to help introduce local tourism potential and agricultural products to visitors and travel businesses.

Tran Thi Thu Trang, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said the center will focus on effectively leveraging the province’s tourism potential and strength while strengthening connections with localities, businesses, and organizations both domestically and internationally. These efforts aim to expand the tourism market and enhance the Dong Nai’s tourism brand awareness. The year 2026 presents both opportunities and challenges for tourism promotion, requiring innovation in thinking, approaches, and stronger coordination between the center and relevant stakeholders across the province.
