Dong Nai hosts 413 Chinese-invested enterprises

On March 10, Le Truong Son, member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, received and worked with a delegation from Dezhou city in Shandong province, China. The event was also attended by leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

Sharing information about Dezhou city, Tan Mingming, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Dezhou city said the city has a well-developed transport system and is focusing on key industries on information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing and food processing. Among its localities, Ningjin county has emerged as a major hub for the elevator industry and is also considered the cradle of China’s raw timber sector. She noted that Vietnam is currently China’s largest trading partner within ASEAN. In Dezhou city alone, 584 enterprises maintain trade relations with Vietnamese businesses. Tan Mingming expressed her hope that the visit would contribute to strengthening cooperation between Dezhou city and Dong Nai province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son shared that Dong Nai is the province with the largest number of industrial parks in Vietnam. Thanks to its favorable geographical location, well-developed transport infrastructure, mild climate and limited exposure to natural disasters, the province has favorable conditions for developing long-term industrial crops. Dong Nai also has the country’s largest areas of rubber and cashew plantations as well as extensive fruit orchards. In addition, the province is regarded as Vietnam’s livestock capital, with many modern farming facilities invested in and developed in recent years.

At present, Dong Nai is home to 413 Chinese enterprises that are investing and operating production and business activities in the province’s industrial parks, with a total registered capital of about USD4.2 billion.

Highlighting the longstanding friendship and cooperative relations between Vietnam and China, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son expressed his hope that cooperation between Dong Nai and Chinese localities will continue to grow stronger in the coming years.
