Hieu Liem Bridge, spanning the Dong Nai River, is expected to have its final spans connected and open for technical traffic on April 30. The project is officially scheduled to be put into operation and opened for use on June 30, 2026, according to the project investor, the Power Project Management Board No. 3 under Vietnam Electricity.

Under the investor's plan, the final segments of Hieu Liem Bridge will be joined, and the bridge is set to open for technical traffic on April 30.

According to the investor, several key construction components have been implemented simultaneously and have achieved substantial progress. The entire casting of Super-T girders, a critical element of the bridge’s span structure that ensures load-bearing capacity and long-term durability, has been completed. In addition, pile foundations for the two abutments and five bridge piers have been fully constructed. Major concrete structures are gradually taking shape at the site.

Specifically, all concrete work for abutments A and B has been completed. Concrete work for piers T1, T2, and T5 has also been completed in full. Work on the remaining piers is being accelerated. To date, concrete work on pier T3 has reached about 78% completion, while pier T4 has reached about 70%. Construction crews are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to complete the remaining concrete work as quickly as possible.

In parallel with the main structural components, auxiliary works are also being implemented synchronously. Accordingly, the concrete for the retaining wall of abutment MA has reached approximately 36%, while the retaining wall of abutment MB has reached approximately 65% of the volume.

To ensure the project meets the timeline for the technical opening and official operation, the investor has urged local authorities to complete land clearance for the remaining area in March so that contractors can accelerate construction.

Regarding this issue, Nguyen Thi Dung, Chairwoman of Tri An Commune People's Committee, stated: The locality is urgently completing compensation, support, and resettlement plans. In addition, the commune will continue to organize dialogues and mobilize people to reach an agreement and hand over the site as soon as possible.

The Hieu Liem Bridge project is being implemented to support the construction and operation of the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project and to meet the travel needs and socio-economic development of the area. The existing Tri An Hydropower Plant is shown in the photo. Photo: Hoang Loc

The Hieu Liem Bridge project is being implemented to serve the construction and operation of the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project. Once completed and put into operation, the bridge will not only help ensure the progress of the hydropower project but also strengthen transport connectivity across riverside areas along the Dong Nai River, while creating conditions to promote trade and make travel more convenient for residents in the locality.
