As the whole country prepares to enter the week-long holiday for the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Horse 2026, this is also a prime time for tourist attractions and travel businesses to roll out activities celebrating the Communist Party of Vietnam's founding anniversary (February 3, 1930 – 2026) and welcoming spring, in order to serve visitors nationwide.

Up to this point, most tourist sites and destinations have completed their preparations to welcome visitors. Many locations have been decorated and now feature multiple photo-friendly spaces with vibrant colors and impressive backdrops to attract tourists for sightseeing and spring festivities.
Diverse spring decoration themes
To prepare for the Tet holiday, tourist areas have basically completed their spring decoration works, setting up Tet-themed miniature landscapes and festive spaces with diverse and rich themes.
As one of the most well-known tourist areas in the province, Tan Phu commune-based Suoi Mo tourist area has long been a popular destination for both local residents and visitors during holidays and Tet. For the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Suoi Mo tourist area has prepared a Tet setting under the theme “Peaceful spring – Reunion Tet,” promising a vibrant festive season and memorable experiences for visitors throughout the holiday from the first to the sixth day of Tet.
According to Pham Chau An, Deputy General Director of Suoi Mo Tourism Investment J.S Company (Suoi Mo tourist area), as in previous years, at the beginning of the new spring, Suoi Mo tourist area continues to invest in miniature landscapes and embellish various facilities so that visitors can both enjoy recreational activities and capture beautiful commemorative photos in the early days of the new year.
Specifically, Suoi Mo tourist area has focused on installing a series of diverse miniature landscapes, turning the entire area into “million-like” check-in spots, such as the Horse mascot featuring a majestic 4-meter-high horse sculpture at the central lake; and the “old Tet” corner recreating the rustic and familiar Southern countryside with thatched houses, incense villages, and traditional silk villages. Beyond visual attractions, Suoi Mo tourist area also organizes a series of events imbued with traditional Tet flavors, including lion and dragon dances, folk art performances, calligraphy writing for New Year blessings, and artistic coconut-leaf folding activities.
As is customary each year, Buu Long tourist area in Tran Bien ward will remain open throughout the Tet holiday. On the occasion of the upcoming Tet season, Buu Long tourist area has created numerous impressive and colorful spring spaces with more than 30,000 pots of fresh flowers and many other unique decorative landscapes. Nguyen Danh Thinh, Acting Director of Buu Long tourist area, shared that during this Tet, entrance fees will be waived for all children under 1.4 meters tall. For adults, with a ticket priced at only 150,000 VND per person, visitors can enjoy a full package of recreational and sightseeing services, including 40 free attractions such as outdoor scenic areas, “A Glimpse of the Highlands,” camping tent zones, Dinosaur Park, Reincarnation Zone, Love Bay, zoos, butterfly gardens, bird gardens, Long Son Peninsula, among others. In addition, from the first to the sixth day of the first lunar month, Buu Long tourist area will host special art programs under the theme “Radiant spring” alongside a traditional food space called “Rural Market,” featuring dozens of rustic dishes at affordable prices. Notably, on the third, fourth, and fifth days of the first lunar month, professional chefs will perform and serve free giant-sized dishes such as volcanic fried rice, giant horse meat called “thang co” ( a traditional dish of the Mong ethnic group), and giant sticky-rice-wrapped fried chicken for visitors.
Ensuring healthy and safe recreational activities
Besides its tourist areas and parks, Dong Nai also boasts forest and lake-based eco-tourism destinations that are particularly attractive during holidays and Tet, including Bu Gia Map National Park, Cat Tien National Park, the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve, Ta Thiet Revolutionary Base, and Tran Bien Confucian Temple. These destinations are highly appealing, especially to young travelers and family groups.
Tran Van Binh, Director of the Center for Environmental Education and Services at Cat Tien National Park, said that the weather during Tet holiday is usually dry and rain-free, which is very convenient for forest excursions and for learning about the biodiversity of Cat Tien National Park. Therefore, during the Tet holiday, the number of family-group visitors to Cat Tien National Park tends to increase significantly.
Alongside preparations made by tourist sites, to ensure that recreational and entertainment activities during Tet holiday are conducted safely and effectively, meeting the needs of both local residents and visitors from within and outside the province, management authorities have also stepped up measures in cultural and tourism management during this peak period.
Regarding tourism management during the 2026 Tet holiday, Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST), stated that the department has required local authorities, tourist destinations, and tourism and travel service providers across the province to strengthen management efforts, develop service plans and response scenarios, and strictly comply with legal regulations governing tourism business operations.
Accordingly, People’s Committees of communes and wards, management boards of tourist sites, and tourism businesses are required to enhance state management of tourism in their respective areas, coordinate in organizing cultural activities, festivals, and recreational events to serve the public and tourists during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. They are also urged to proactively develop plans and service arrangements for tourists, ensuring sufficient human resources, facilities, and necessary conditions to serve visitors.
The DoCST further requires tourism services operators to strictly comply with tourism business regulations, publicly post prices and sell services at listed prices, and absolutely refrain from overcharging, price coercion, or exploiting tourists.
