As planned, in February 2026, Dong Nai province will complete compensation and site clearance for 90 percent of the project area, and is expected to complete all compensation and site clearance for the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway project in the first quarter of 2026.

The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway has a route length of approximately 124km passing through the territory of two provinces, Lam Dong and Dong Nai. Of which, the section passing through Dong Nai is more than 101km long. The project is divided into five component projects, including component project 1, construction of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway (investment in the form of public-private partnership PPP); component project 3, construction of service roads and overpasses across the expressway within Dong Nai province; component project 5, compensation, support, and resettlement within Dong Nai province will be implemented by Dong Nai province.

For component project 5, Dong Nai province must acquire approximately 980 hectares of land, affecting more than 2.1 thousand households and organizations. Of these, nearly 1.1 thousand households are expected to be resettled. To carry out resettlement, Dong Nai province will construct six resettlement areas in the communes of Bu Dang, Dong Tam, and Tan Loi, and in the wards of Binh Phuoc and Chon Thanh, totaling more than 26 hectares.

Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure within the project area, relevant units are currently submitting dossiers to the Department of Industry and Trade for appraisal of technical design documents. Contractor selection for construction is expected to take place in February 2026.
