On the morning of February 26, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang chaired an online handover conference to review the agricultural and rural affairs in the first quarter of 2026.
In 2025, the production value of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in the province reached over 82.2 trillion VND, a 3.22% increase year-on-year, contributing over 12% of the total GRDP of the province. 100% of the socio-economic targets in the agricultural sector were met, such as: forest coverage rate reaching 25.28%; the poverty rate according to Central standards remaining at 0.24%... The sector's structure has shifted correctly and clearly, from extensive to intensive. Key crops have been arranged, while concentrated production areas, specialized crop areas, and products with export potential and high economic value have been clearly formed, suitable for the natural conditions of each locality. Livestock farming has developed well thanks to effective disease control and stable prices.

After the merger, the entire province has 67 out of 72 communes meeting new-style rural standards, of which 25 communes meet advanced new-style rural standards and 8 communes meet model new-style rural standards.
According to the National Criteria Set on new-style rural communes for the 2026-2030 period, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment has completed the Draft Decision approving the list of group 1, group 2, and group 3 communes implementing new-style rural development for the 2026-2030 period. Accordingly, group 1 has 28 communes; group 2 has 32 communes; group 3 has 12 communes. The Department of Agriculture and Environment proposed the goal of new-style rural construction for the 2026-2030 period; in which, in 2026, the entire province strives to have 5 communes recognized as meeting new-style rural standards.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang requested that resources be prioritized for the 5 communes striving to meet new-style rural standards in 2026. 2026 is the first year of implementing the goals for the entire 2026-2030 period, and the National Target Program for New-style Rural Development continues to be identified as a key and continuous political task for the entire 2026-2030 period. Therefore, localities need to develop specific annual roadmaps to gather investment resources. She requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to consolidate the Steering Committee for New-Style Rural Construction and Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2026-2030 period.
