The working delegation inspected the construction progress of several components under Component Project 3, which covers essential projects in the airport, and Component Project 4, comprising aviation service facilities.

At the Component Project 4, the delegation reviewed progress on aircraft maintenance hangars being built by Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company Limited (VAECO) and Vietjet Air. At the site, Minister Tran Hong Minh requested that construction units further accelerate construction, maintain continuous operations in "three shifts, four crews", and make full use of available time, manpower, and equipment to speed up progress while ensuring quality. The set objective is to complete all items by June 2026, ensuring the airport's readiness for commercial operations in line with the approved schedule.

At the Component Project 3, the working delegation inspected the construction progress of the fuel storage tank area at the terminal apron and conducted an overall survey of the passenger terminal complex. Following the inspection, the Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the project owner,  consultants, and contractors in closely adhering to the project schedule and implementing construction scientifically and methodically in recent times. He also requested that a high construction pace be maintained, with close coordination among different work items to ensure consistency in technical standards, architecture and landscape.

Minister Tran Hong Minh stressed that at this stage, construction at the Long Thanh Airport site must not only be fast but also aesthetically pleasing, green and clean. Each completed item must meet quality, technical, and aesthetic standards, and be worthy of a modern, environmentally friendly international airport targeting five-star standards upon operation.

Apart from asking for completing airport facilities, the Minister also requested that relevant units pay particular attention to external transport infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient connectivity.

Local authorities were asked to study and supplement additional road links directly connecting to the airport, integrating with national highways, ring roads, and intra-provincial transport networks, thereby creating the most convenient access conditions for residents and passengers in the future.

According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), Consortium contractors are currently mobilising nearly 15,000 experts, engineers, and workers, along with more than 3,000 machines and pieces of equipment, deploying hundreds of construction fronts across the site. The entire Component Project 3 consists of 15 contract packages, of which three have been completed, and 12 are under construction. The total value of work completed to date has reached nearly 58 trillion VND, equivalent to about 67 percent of the signed contract value.

ACV affirmed that all contract packages are being managed under the principle of “taking the June 2026 operation milestone as the central target”, with priority given to resolving overlapping and intersecting works to ensure synchronisation across the entire project.
