Groundbreaking ceremony held for Long Hung Bridge Investment and Construction Project

On the morning of January 15, Construction Corporation No.1 Joint Stock Company (CC1) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Long Hung Bridge Investment and Construction Project (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) under the public-private partnership model.

This is one of several projects whose construction commencement and groundbreaking ceremonies were held simultaneously across the province to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of CPV (February 3, 1930 - 2026).

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Truong Thi Huong Binh, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Finance; Vu Ngoc Long, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Le Ngoc Linh, Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Municipal Department of Construction.

According to the project investor, the Long Hung Bridge Investment and Construction Project (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) is located in Long Phuoc Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) and Tam Phuoc Ward, An Phuoc Commune (Dong Nai province). The project starts in Long Phuoc Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) and ends at the intersection with the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway.

The Long Hung Bridge has a total length of approximately 9.8km and is designed with 6 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 mixed-use lanes. The project has an estimated total investment of approximately 11.4 trillion VND (excluding loan interest during the construction period). The estimated construction period is from 2026-2028.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized: The Long Hung Bridge Project contributes to forming an important transport axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh International Airport, and it is one of the large, particularly important transport bridge projects, clearly identified as a strategic work in the transport infrastructure network for regional connectivity.

The Long Hung Bridge has a special position and role in the infrastructure development strategy of the Southeast region. When completed, the project will not only be a river-crossing bridge but will also become a key connecting axis between Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh City, and major external transport axes, facilitating the circulation of goods and passengers. At the same time, it will practically contribute to enhancing regional connectivity - a prerequisite for attracting investment and expanding socio-economic development space.

The provincial leaders requested that immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, departments, agencies, localities, and relevant organizations continue to uphold the highest sense of responsibility, coordinate closely, and implement the project scientifically and effectively, ensuring that Long Hung Bridge is soon commenced, constructed, and completed on schedule, and put into operation early to facilitate the socio-economic development of the two localities.
