At the working session, Nguyen Tien Viet, Deputy General Director in charge of ACV and Director of the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board, provided an overview of the project, highlighting its advantages over other airports in the Asian region and its current implementation progress. Viet emphasized that once operational, Long Thanh Airport will serve as a development driver not only for Dong Nai Province but also for the entire country, with an expected contribution of approximately 1% per year to national GDP. Accordingly, ACV requested that the working delegation support and advise the Party and State on exceptional policies to expedite the implementation of subsequent phases, while applying internationally competitive mechanisms on investment attraction.
Nguyen Tien Viet also noted that ACV will submit a detailed and comprehensive proposal to the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies, outlining the necessary mechanisms and policies to maximize the effectiveness of Long Thanh Airport.

At the working session, Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, recommended that the working delegation issue policies and prioritize resources to accelerate the development of the transport network connecting to Long Thanh Airport. According to Vo Tan Duc, to fully leverage the advantages of this mega-project, the peripheral transport infrastructure must take the lead. Currently, several roads are degraded, have limited lanes, and are inadequate for the scale of Long Thanh Airport.
Dong Nai province is closely coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces to expedite key projects: the Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 and the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway are progressing toward completion, while the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway is scheduled to open in June 2026. In addition, the province is urgently preparing for the Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 project and an urban railway system for future connectivity.

During the working session, Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, expressed his satisfaction with the daily progress of the airport’s construction. He affirmed that the province is concentrating all available resources to develop the airport urban area, integrated with a logistics system, a free trade center, high-tech industrial zones, and innovation centers. Looking ahead, the province is in dire need of additional resources to continue expanding existing roads connecting to Long Thanh Airport, while new roads will be designed to be wide, with multiple lanes and long-term vision.
In his concluding remarks at the working session, the Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies, Nguyen Duc Hien, expressed his admiration for the scale and “lightning” speed of construction at Long Thanh Airport. He emphasized that the recommendations from ACV and Dong Nai province are highly appropriate, closely aligned with practical needs, and demonstrate long-term vision.

Based on the results of the on-site survey, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies will continue to study and consolidate information to provide comprehensive recommendations to the Party leadership on the policy decisions to develop Long Thanh Airport, in particular, and Dong Nai province in general. The focus will be on completing the inter-regional transport infrastructure and establishing the model of a modern airport urban area.
Notably, the working delegation acknowledged and will propose exceptional mechanisms and policies to fully leverage the ecosystem around the airport, including an intelligent logistics system, a free trade center, high-tech industrial zones, and innovation centers. This is seen as a key “lever” to create internationally competitive advantages for Long Thanh Airport, while also providing a solid legal foundation for the prompt implementation of subsequent project phases, positioning Dong Nai as a new growth driver for the entire country.
