On December 9, the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology held a conference to raise awareness of intellectual property for commune- and ward-level civil servants across the province.

At the conference, speakers presented an overview of the formation and development of intellectual property assets in society; the characteristics and role of collective trademarks; and the need for government support for society and creative entities. They also shared international practices and models for managing collective trademarks, discussed the current state of intellectual property, and proposed approaches to managing collective trademarks in the new period.

Speaking at the event, Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that commune and ward authorities are the frontline in law enforcement and the primary point of contact for residents, cooperatives, and businesses. Therefore, the capacity of grassroots-level personnel will determine the overall quality of the province’s intellectual property enforcement and protection system.

The conference offered an in-depth analysis of key topics related to the development of intellectual property assets in Vietnam and internationally, including the role of collective trademarks in managing local products, state support mechanisms for creative entities, and experiences and models for managing collective trademarks in the current context. The analyses, orientations, and recommendations shared at the conference will serve as a valuable foundation for participants to apply, advise, and provide guidance to local communities and organizations.
