“Among them, the passenger terminal, the ‘heart’ of the project, and the air traffic control tower, the ‘brain’ of flight operations, have basically been completed, enabling aircraft to take off and land at Long Thanh Airport,” PM Pham Minh Chinh stated.

Emphasizing that little time remains until December 19, 2025, the PM urged relevant units to mobilize maximum manpower and organize construction in “three shifts, four crews,” working “day and night” to complete remaining items serving the ceremony welcoming the first official flight to Long Thanh Airport. This is an immediate task that must be accomplished. Military Region 7 will coordinate with ACV to mobilize military forces to support construction, ensuring readiness for both the technical and official flights.

In the longer term, ACV, investors and contractors are to continue completing project components for operation in early 2026. At the same time, ministries, sectors and Dong Nai province are required to promptly implement the contents of Notice No. 420-TB/VPTW dated November 17, 2025, issued by the Party Central Committee’s Office on the conclusions of Party General Secretary To Lam, as well as the conclusions of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction. In particular, Dong Nai province will coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City to accelerate transport connectivity projects linking Long Thanh Airport with Ho Chi Minh City and Tan Son Nhat Airport, especially the project extending the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai Provincial Administrative Center and Long Thanh Airport.
“Immediate actions must be taken to ensure that Long Thanh Airport is not merely an airport, but also a hub of an aviation ecosystem, airport-based economy and airport city,” PM Pham Minh Chinh stressed.
