Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 are the first projects in Vietnam designed to use liquefied natural gas (LNG) under Power Development Plan VIII, and are classified among national key projects. The project has a total capacity of over 1,600 MW and a total investment of 1.4 billion USD.

According to PV Power, all components related to the Nhon Trach 4 power plant have been completed in accordance with design specifications. The plant has successfully completed a 72-hour reliability run, with operational parameters meeting required standards, and is now eligible for commercial operation.

Earlier, the Nhon Trach 3 power plant started commercial operations on November 20, 2025.

The on-schedule completion of the project and early commissioning are expected to contribute to provincial budget revenues, promote industrial-service development around Phuoc An Port and industrial parks, ensure energy security for the province and the Southeastern region, while supporting the energy transition and green economic development.
