‘Mega’ Long Thanh Airport takes shape after nearly 2,000 days and nights

After nearly five years, equivalent to almost 2,000 days and nights, thousands of officials, engineers, workers, and laborers have, with the spirit of "working day and night", "braving sun and rain", and "working through holidays and Tet", gradually shaped the Long Thanh International Airport. From vast rubber forests, residential clusters, and farmlands, the form of a world-class modern airport has now taken shape on Dong Nai soil.

In 2020, Dong Nai officially handed over land to relevant units to kick off the construction of Long Thanh Airport.

Alongside the land handover process to facilitate construction, site clearance for the project area was carried out in parallel. In particular, the clearance of rubber plantation land was implemented first.

In August 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other delegates officially pressed the button to launch the bidding process for the passenger terminal building and the construction and installation of equipment for runways, taxiways, and aircraft aprons at Long Thanh Airport.

At the Long Thanh Airport project site, construction lights were regularly kept on at night to accelerate progress.
