The competition aims to select the most optimal architectural and technical solutions for the two projects, meeting the following objectives: ensuring conformity with planning orientations and addressing both current and long-term traffic demand; fulfilling functional, technical and economic efficiency requirements to support project formulation and construction implementation; selecting a representative, modern and distinctive architectural form with symbolic value for the gateway to the Southeast region; creating a unique landscape highlight that enhances the value of the Dong Nai River waterfront and completes the regional transport network; and ensuring harmonious integration with the river landscape, shaping a characteristic architectural identity while promoting urban and tourism development for both localities.

Accordingly, for the architectural design competition of Cat Lai Bridge, the project site spans Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City. The total planned study length of the project is approximately 3.7 km within the Cat Lai Bridge section. The starting point of this initiative is at Km1+500 on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, approximately 400 meters from the My Thuy intersection, in the direction of the Cat Lai ferry. The endpoint is at Km5+200, where it connects to the Cat Lai Bridge approach road on the Dong Nai side.

Construction scale: a permanent bridge built using reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete, and steel. The Cat Lai Bridge and its approach roads at both ends are designed to urban arterial road standards, with a design speed of 80 km/h, in accordance with QCVN 07:2023/BXD and TCVN 13592:2022, which outline urban road design requirements. The width of the bridge and approach roads will accommodate six motorized lanes and two non-motorized lanes.

For the architectural design competition of the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai Bridge No. 2), the project site spans both Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City. The estimated total study length of the project is approximately 3.5 km within the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai Bridge No. 2) section, of which the starting point is at Km2+530 on the inter-regional road in Long Phuoc Ward, about 2.5 km from the Go Cong interchange toward Ho Chi Minh City; and the endpoint is at Km6+340, connecting to Route 777B on the An Phuoc Commune and Tam Phuoc Ward side of Dong Nai Province.

Construction scale: a permanent bridge constructed with reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete, and steel. Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai Bridge No. 2) and its approach roads at both ends are designed to urban arterial road standards, with a design speed of 80 km/h in accordance with QCVN 07:2023/BXD and TCVN 13592:2022 on urban roads – design requirements. The bridge and approach road width shall ensure a configuration of six motorized lanes and two non-motorized lanes.

The deadline for submission of registration dossiers for both competitions is 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2026. Registration dossiers should be submitted to the Dong Nai Department of Construction, No. 38 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province (contact: Vo Thai Dong, phone: 0932.971991).
