On November 26, Comrade Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a working session of the Coordinating Council for Dong Nai’s Startup and Innovation Ecosystem to 2025 (the council).

In 2025, Dong Nai will host numerous activities related to entrepreneurship and innovation, with various programs and competitions standing out prominently. Notably, the 2025 Dong Nai Innovative Startup Competition attracted 32 projects, from which 24 were selected for presentations and 6 advanced to the final round; the 2025 Innovative Startup Contest for Women gathered 41 ideas/projects, with 11 selected for the final round; and the 10th Dong Nai Youth and Children Creativity Contest 2025 recorded more than 2,000 participating solutions, models and products.

Member units of the council have also intensified their training and capacity-building efforts, adopting a practical and modern approach that focuses on digital skills, AI, management, and e-commerce. Startup programs benefit from strong support and attention from the province, as well as from local organizations and institutions. Rapid technological advancements and the strong momentum of digital transformation have created significant opportunities for tech startups and digital solution ventures.

However, entrepreneurship and innovation activities in Dong Nai still face numerous limitations. Several initiatives have yet to be implemented as planned. The allocated funding has not fully met the needs of startup support programs, resulting in a reduced scale and frequency of training, capacity-building, investment support, and model replication. The startup ecosystem has not yet developed in a fully synchronized manner, with weak connections to larger markets and investment funds. Support for innovative startups remains limited due to the absence of specific regulatory frameworks.

At the meeting, representatives from departments, sectors, universities, and business associations proposed solutions to address these challenges.

Providing direction for the council’s activities in the upcoming period, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son emphasized that Dong Nai is among the leading localities in economic development, with considerable potential for startup projects and business formation. Therefore, its progress should be evaluated in relation to comparable provinces.

In particular, he emphasized the need to study and establish connections with Ho Chi Minh City’s startup programs. The province is integrating overall programs on economic and scientific-technological development to create favorable conditions for startup and innovation activities. At the same time, provincial leaders will arrange dedicated working sessions with key council members to discuss and identify practical solutions for the province’s advisory and startup-support initiatives.
