Speaking at the workshop, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that biotechnology is becoming one of the strategic pillars of sustainable development. Based on practical needs and future development orientations, key task groups that should be thoroughly studied and discussed at the workshop include: adopting a unified approach centered on products, markets, and quality standards systems; and fully, frankly identifying, without avoidance, the “bottlenecks” currently hindering the development of the biotechnology sector.

In addition, during the 2026–2030 period, efforts must focus on implementing several core action directions in a synchronized manner, linking mastery of core technologies, institutional improvement, and human resource development. At the same time, it is essential to continue enhancing the role and position of Ho Chi Minh City National University as a prominent national training and research center.
