Adjusting Component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway

Component project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, Phase 1, has been approved for adjustment by the Ministry of Construction, with an increase of nearly 770 billion VND in the total investment.

Specifically, after adjustment, Component project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway has a total investment of over 7.6 trillion VND. Previously, according to Decision No. 1605/QD-BGTVT dated December 6, 2022, of the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), the total investment for this project was over 6.8 trillion VND.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Construction, the design solutions for the operation of Component Project 2 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway will be adjusted. In particular, the works under the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) include the Traffic Management Center (TMC) for managing, operating, and maintaining phase 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, located at Tan Hiep interchange, with an office building, infrastructure, civil works, technology equipment system, and infrastructure to support the working conditions of functional forces in charge of ensuring order and traffic safety on the expressway; a digital transmission system and technology equipment installed along the expressway.

Toll stations will be arranged at the Tan Hiep interchange, using electronic toll collection (ETC) with multi-lane free-flow entry (without barriers) and single-lane exit (with barriers).

Road vehicle weight control facilities will be arranged on the expressway entrance at the Tan Hiep interchange in accordance with the National Technical Regulation on Road Vehicle Weight Control Facilities; solutions to prevent overloaded vehicles from entering the expressway are designed to suit the topography and ground conditions of the Tan Hiep interchange, ensuring safety and convenience in operation.

Software system with system software (virtualization software, data backup management software, network and device management software, security software...), weigh station management and control software; ITS software, toll collection software.

With the addition of these items, the land area used for the project also increased from approximately 179 hectares (according to Decision No. 1605) to over 186 hectares.

Component project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway has a total length of over 18km, with its starting point connecting to the end point of Component project 1 at the Long Thanh interchange area with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province; its end point connects to the starting point of Component project 3, located in Phuoc Thai commune, Dong Nai province. The project is invested by Project Management Unit 85 (Ministry of Construction).
