Thirteen road projects connecting Ho Chi Minh city and Dong Nai under construction

According to the Provincial People’s Committee, 13 road projects connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province are currently under development. Among these, 7 routes are under construction across both localities, 5 routes are being implemented within Ho Chi Minh City, and 1 route is under construction in Dong Nai Province.

Specifically, the 7 interprovincial transport routes under construction include: Ring Road No. 3 – Ho Chi Minh City, currently in phase 1 with 4 lanes; upon completion, it will be expanded to 8 lanes and is expected to be completed in 2026; Ring Road No. 4 – Ho Chi Minh City, under construction phase 1 with 4 lanes; the final stage will have 8 lanes, scheduled for completion in 2029; Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, currently in phase 1 with 4 lanes; the completed phase will have 6–8 lanes, expected to finish in 2026; Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway, phase 1 under construction with 4 lanes; the final stage will include 8 lanes, connected via Phuoc Khanh Bridge, which is also under construction and projected for completion in 2027; Ho Chi Minh City – Chon Thanh – Hoa Lu Expressway, phase 1 under construction with 4 lanes; the completed route will have 6 lanes, expected to be completed in 2027; Ho Chi Minh Road (Chon Thanh – Duc Hoa section), phase 1 being built with 2 lanes; the final phase will have 6 lanes, targeted for completion in 2025; Phuoc An Bridge, connecting the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port complex with the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway, designed with 6 lanes and expected to be completed in 2027.

The five projects currently being implemented only within Ho Chi Minh City (not yet in Dong Nai) include: National Highway 13C; The connecting road from Ring Road No. 3 – Ho Chi Minh City to Bien Hoa Airport; The main trunk road of Provincial Road 14; The road from Tan Ba Market T-junction (Provincial Road 747A); Road D8 and the inter-regional road connecting with Dong Nai Province.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Road 741C project, which will connect the two localities, is currently being implemented on the Dong Nai side but has not yet started in Ho Chi Minh City.
