At the supervision meeting, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the project investors reported that: the Anti-Flooding Project in the area of Chua stream, Ba Lua stream and Cau Quan stream, located in Long Hung ward of Dong Nai province, has a total investment of over VND 267 billion. The project commenced in January 2023 and is scheduled for completion before December 31, 2025. Contractors are currently executing four bidding packages. However, within the project area, three households have yet to hand over their land (approximately a 40-meter stretch); one makeshift pedestrian pontoon bridge across the stream has not been dismantled; one fire prevention and fighting water tank belonging to Nguyen Huu Canh High School, located within the project boundary, has no relocation plan; and 31 households have not removed structures or architectural works in accordance with the designated boundary despite the fact that they already received compensation and transferred the land.

For this project, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board suggested relevant agencies and locality to expedite site clearance and hand over the entire land area so that contractors may complete the project.
Regarding the Dong Nai Riverbank erosion control embankment project, the total investment is nearly VND 351 billion. Construction began in January 2024 and is required to be completed prior to December 31, 2025. At present, only one household has yet to hand over their land, and four households have not removed structures within the project boundary. Therefore, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board also suggested the People’s Committee of Tran Bien ward in Dong Nai province to promptly complete site clearance to ensure construction stays on schedule.

At the supervision meeting, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council Tran Van Mi assessed that: regarding the Dong Nai Riverbank erosion control embankment project, only one household has not yet handed over the site. Therefore, the project investor should coordinate with relevant authorities to complete site clearance and finish construction within 2025. As for the Anti-Flooding Project in the area of Chua stream, Ba Lua stream and Cau Quan stream, due to the substantial workload involved site clearance work, there is a risk that the project may not be completed within 2025. Therefore, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board considers and proposes an extension of either the implementation timeline or the project disbursement period.
