Techfest Dong Nai 2025: Spreading the spirit of digital transformation and innovation

One of the key events to concretize the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation in Dong Nai province is the 2025 Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Festival (Techfest Dong Nai 2025).

The event takes place right after the successful conclusion of the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 tenure); it is also part of a series of activities in response to Vietnam Innovation Day (October 1) and National Digital Transformation Day (October 10).

“Innovation runway - Dong Nai takes off”

Techfest Dong Nai 2025 will be held from October 8 to 10 at the Provincial Convention Center (Tan Trieu ward). With the official theme “Innovation runway - Dong Nai takes off”, the event is expected to become an important forum to realize the orientation of making breakthrough development in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation at the locality.

According to Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the event will feature many meaningful and practical activities to celebrate Vietnam Innovation Day, National Digital Transformation Day, and the success of the first Provincial Party Congress, as well as other major political and social events of the province.

Especially, this year’s event is held on a large scale, with a wide range of activities including exhibitions, seminars, panel discussion, technology exhibition, and side events. This will be an opportunity for organizations, businesses, scientists, and young entrepreneurs to meet, share, cooperate, and spread the spirit of innovation.

Dr. Pham Thi Hong Phuong, Head of Ecotech Community - Techfest Vietnam, and Senior Advisor at the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer (Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City), remarked that using the name “Techfest Dong Nai 2025” and the slogan “Innovation runway - Dong Nai takes off” affirm the event’s regional stature and its alignment with the Techfest Vietnam brand. It reflects the province’s aspiration to become a “solid launchpad” for creative ideas, in line with the spirit of the national Techfest.

The festival not only focuses on local activities but also aims to develop a network connecting innovation and creative startup centers across the southern region, consistent with the Government’s common goal of turning the Southeast region into a leading innovation hub. In addition, it is designed to align closely with the national startup ecosystem.

According to Dong Nai provincial Department of Science and Technology, Techfest Dong Nai 2025 aims to reaffirm the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as a key pillar for development, promoting technology transfer and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among communities, enterprises, and entrepreneurs. A highlight of the event will be the digital technology exhibition area featuring about 200 booths showcasing technological products, creative solutions, and OCOP (One Commune, One Product) items. It is expected to attract around 1,500 participants.

Dr. Pham Thi Hong Phuong said the exhibition at Techfest Dong Nai 2025 will feature “hands-on technology” activities that connect creative ideas. The spaces will be designed for maximum interaction, divided into specialized areas corresponding to key economic sectors and core fields of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The exhibition serves as a place to showcase highly applicable and groundbreaking solutions to address local practical issues such as digital transformation for economic sectors, sustainable development and integration, digital infrastructure, and smart cities…

Specifically, it will highlight models applying core technologies to priority sectors, helping enterprises optimize costs, enhance productivity, and build global competitiveness; promote the digital economy and introduce digital transformation solutions in production, management, and operations. Many booths will present technologies that support the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) implementation and product traceability; as well as areas displaying solutions on digital infrastructure and smart cities serving administrative management, transportation, environment, and social welfare…

Thematic seminars and conferences at Techfest Dong Nai 2025 must ensure participation of appropriate stakeholders, ranging from local authorities, departments, sectors, to enterprises, and educational institutions, tailored to each topic to maximize the outcomes of the events. These seminars and conferences should particularly focus on improving the efficiency of digital transformation at the two-tier local government level; prioritizing business connections to promote the digital economy, technology supply-demand linkages, innovation activities, and the startup ecosystem.

Connecting the business community and promoting science and technology development

According to Dong Nai provincial Department of Science and Technology, Techfest Dong Nai 2025 will celebrate achievements in science and technology, digital transformation, startups, and economic development of Dong Nai in particular, and the Vietnamese business community in general. The event promises to provide an effective platform connecting stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. Alongside the large-scale digital technology exhibition, Techfest Dong Nai 2025 will also include a series of thematic seminars promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Dong Nai; enhancing regional connectivity; and developing the innovation and startup ecosystem. It is also expected to launch the Provincial Science and Technology Development Fund and present awards for startups, innovation, and science communication competitions.

The seminar topics will closely follow and concretize the main orientations of the national Techfest, including: implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW for a sustainable Dong Nai; promoting cooperation among four key stakeholders of the State– universities – businesses - investors, which drive science and technology application, innovation, and digital transformation among Dong Nai enterprises; connecting technology supply and demand and commercializing science and technology and innovation products; and developing sustainable product traceability systems.
