Over the past two decades since the inception of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, the country’s business community has experienced remarkable expansion. The number of newly established enterprises has continued to grow steadily year after year. Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses have demonstrated exceptional resilience and a strong capacity for global integration, becoming a bright spot in the national economy and reflecting the nation’s aspirations and detremination to advance despite persistent challenges.

Strengthening with each passing year

From an underdeveloped agrarian economy, Vietnam is now undergoing dynamic growth and strong international integration.

Alongside the nation’s progress, the business community and entrepreneurs have played a pivotal role as key drivers of the nation’s international engagement. Today, Vietnam is home to nearly one million enterprises and is ambitiously working toward the goal of two million by 2030.

Within this vast and dynamic business community, a number of enterprises and corporations have emerged as key pillars of the national economy, affirming the internal strength and resilience of Vietnamese entrepreneurship. Prominent names such as Viettel, Vingroup, Hoa Phat, Vinamilk, and FPT have expanded beyond domestic borders, establishing their presence in international markets.

On October 13, the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13, 2004 – 2025) will be celebrated at The Mira Central Park Convention and Event Center. The event, co-organized by the Dong Nai Business Federation and the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association, aims to honor the tradition of business activities, strengthen connections among enterprises and entrepreneurs, and inspire a spirit of readiness as they enter a new phase of growth.

On October 9, at a conference held in celebration of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with representatives of the business community, praising their dedication and resilience in overcoming challenges since the beginning of the current government term. The Prime Minister noted that, despite global and domestic headwinds, Vietnam has continuously posted strong development achievements. These accomplishments are the result of collective efforts across the entire political system, with a large contribution from the business community. He emphasized that the growing maturity and strength of Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs have made them a cornerstone of national progress. The Government, he added, expects the business community to continue sharing its vision, insights, and recommendations on unresolved issues, embodying the spirit of entrepreneurs as “warriors,” rising in unity with the nation and its people.

In tune with the national trend, Dong Nai’s community of entrepreneurs and enterprises has continued to expand in both scale and capacity. Originating from this province, some enterprises have evolved into large corporations with nationwide influence and well-established brands across various sectors — notably Truong Hai, Golf Long Thanh, as well as major state-owned enterprises entrusted with the important mission of driving economic growth and industrial infrastructure development.

An increasing number of enterprises in Dong Nai are demonstrating robust growth and a deep commitment to local development. Nguyen Tuan Mui, Chairman of the Board of Saigon Transportation Group Corporation, shared that despite operating multiple subsidiaries and employing thousands of workers across various provinces and cities, the company continues to maintain its headquarters in Dong Nai. He emphasized that contributing to the prosperity of both the province and the nation is a fundamental responsibility of entrepreneurs and enterprises.

According to Nguyen Tuan Mui, the private economy has been recognized by the State as a key driver of national development. He expressed his hope that the province would continue to accelerate administrative reforms and foster a more enabling business environment, allowing enterprises to enhance operational efficiency and make greater contributions to the local economy.

Regarding Dong Nai province, to further support the growth of the business community, Dong Nai Province has outlined ambitious administrative reform targets for 2025, including the removal of at least 30% of unnecessary investment and business conditions, and the reduction of 30% in compliance costs and investment-related administrative expenses. Looking ahead to 2026, the province aims to propose that competent authorities halve the processing time for administrative procedures and reduce compliance costs by 50% compared with 2024 levels, reinforcing its commitment to building a transparent and business-friendly environment.

Confident in integration, poised for a new era

Addressing the responsibilities of the business community, Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, pledged to the Prime Minister that enterprises would work even harder. He emphasized that for the country to prosper, businesses must strengthen collaboration, with large corporations extending support to small and medium-sized enterprises. The business community, he said, must unite in pursuit of double-digit economic growth, not merely 10 percent but even higher while continuously striving to acquire and master advanced technologies. As Binh underscored, no nation can achieve true prosperity if it remains dependent on foreign technology or confined to performing outsourced work for others.

This same spirit of determination and confidence defines many enterprises in Dong Nai. In 2025, for the fifth consecutive year, THIBIDI (Vietnam Electric Equipment JSC, Long Duc Industrial Park) was recognized as a National Brand. Established in 1980, the company has consistently upheld its position as Vietnam’s leading transformer manufacturer, with expertise in designing, producing, and supplying a wide range of single-phase, three-phase, and intermediate transformers from 10 kVA to 10,000 kVA, and up to 35 kV, serving both domestic and international markets.

Representing the province’s young enterprises and entrepreneurs, the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association, now entering its 2025–2028 term, has outlined a strategic direction built on four key pillars: fostering a strong, responsible, and globally integrated community of young entrepreneurs; advancing digital transformation and the application of technology in production and business operations; promoting green and circular business models aligned with the digital economy; and strengthening the startup ecosystem in tandem with the province’s development policies.

According to Pham Thanh Nghi, General Director of THIBIDI, the company remains committed to continuous innovation, the application of science and technology, and the advancement of automation to deliver high-quality transformers and services to both domestic and international clients. Through these initiatives, THIBIDI seeks to further strengthen its brand reputation, expand its global footprint, and bring Vietnamese-manufactured products to international markets, including highly demanding destinations such as the United States and Europe.

For emerging enterprises such as GC Food JSC (Ho Nai Industrial Park), efforts are focused on strengthening brand identity and market reputation. After a decade of continuous development, GC Food was recognized for the first time as a National Brand in 2024. With a steadfast commitment to quality and sustainable production, the company not only maintains rigorous product standards but also meets the increasingly demanding expectations of international markets — particularly in Japan, South Korea, the United States, and Europe. By continuing to invest heavily in research, development, and process innovation, while adhering to global standards, GC Food aims to achieve an annual compound growth rate of over 30% over the next five years, solidifying its position in both domestic and international markets.
