Dong Nai organizes Announcement ceremony for OCOP products and Conference on connecting consumption of exemplary agricultural products in 2025

On the afternoon of October 26, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province held the Ceremony to Announce OCOP Products for the First Phase of 2025 and the Conference on Promoting the Consumption of Key Agricultural Products, OCOP Products, and Investment Opportunities in Dong Nai.

Attending the announcement ceremony were Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang; Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of Dong Nai Farmers' Union Nguyen Huu Nguyen; leaders of departments, agencies, wards, communes, and businesses, cooperatives, farmers in the province.

Over the past 10 months, Dong Nai province has evaluated 119 OCOP products rated three stars or higher from 79 entities. Among them, 19 products underwent re-evaluation for recognition, and 8 OCOP products achieved five-star ratings. Cumulatively, the province now has 490 OCOP products rated three stars or higher from 323 entities. Notably, there are 6 additional products considered potential national five-star OCOP products.

From now until 2030, the province's National Target Program "One Commune One Product" sets the goal of: Developing and increasing the proportion of OCOP products reaching 4-5 stars to 40%; over 75% of products having stable raw material areas and being linked in value chains; 100% of OCOP products implementing electronic traceability; the proportion of OCOP entities participating in supermarket channels, convenience stores, and e-commerce accounting for over 70%; each locality having at least 1 center/point for introducing and selling OCOP products, associated with local tourism.

This occasion is an opportunity to support businesses, cooperatives, and farmers in connecting the consumption of key agricultural products, OCOP products, and investment opportunities in Dong Nai. Through this, OCOP entities and local businesses can directly access and explore opportunities to distribute agricultural, forestry, and fishery products through retail systems both within and beyond the province. It also serves as a forum for businesses and investors to explore investment opportunities in the production and trading markets for agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products in Dong Nai.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Union, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Dong Nai Cooperative Alliance signed cooperation agreements with businesses.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang affirmed that, within the goal of sustainable agricultural development, enhancing agricultural products through the OCOP program and promoting the consumption of key agricultural products, investment opportunities serve as an essential solution to support businesses and farmers in developing the province's agricultural products.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang highly appreciated the efforts and determination of OCOP entities, highlighting their creativity and substantial shift toward an agricultural economic mindset. On that foundation, entities are continuing to upgrade their products to gradually gain market share not only domestically but also internationally, aiming toward the goal of “Dong Nai agricultural products taking off.”

The announcement ceremony of OCOP products in the first phase of 2025 is part of the "Dong Nai Agricultural Achievement Exhibition" event series to introduce and share information with customers, businesses, and partners to further promote and expand economic cooperation and exchange, promote brands, products, commercial transactions, and honor high-quality OCOP products, agricultural products, and specialties of the province. This occasion is also an opportunity for businesses and cooperatives to consolidate and expand their consumer markets.
