In the context of global integration, consumer demands and preferences increasingly emphasize quality, health, cost, and sustainability.

Therefore, besides continuously improving product quality, businesses and production facilities are paying greater attention to adopting technologies to promote green production and sustainable consumption, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in the market.

Focusing on green production models

Dong Nai province encourages residents to use green, environmentally-friendly products, prioritizing the use of recycled, energy-saving, and natural resource-efficient products.

Many businesses and cooperatives in the province have emphasized developing models of green production, circular production to boost competitiveness, concretize carbon reduction roadmaps, aiming toward net zero targets. Queen Farm Ecological Agriculture Company Limited (Queen Farm), based in Phuoc Son commune, Dong Nai province, has built and developed a clean, green, sustainable farm model. The company currently manages a high-tech durian farm with nearly 10,000 trees over 55 hectares, specializing in high-value fruit varieties like Dona, Musang King, and Ri6.

Nguyen The Tung, General Director of Queen Farm, shared that the company focuses on developing farms in line with green standards, aiming to build an ecological farm with a modern cultivation system that is always ready to supply clean and safe fruits meeting international farming standards. Currently, the company’s farm applies various advanced technologies in durian cultivation and care, such as Israel’s drip irrigation system and surveillance cameras to monitor the trees and promptly prevent pests and diseases.

Nguyen The Tung added that the company follows an ESG-oriented agricultural model (Environment, Society, and Governance). Regarding the environment, the company aims to adapt to market demands, especially as consumers increasingly value “clean” and “green” products, striving to comply with standards for safe and sustainable production. In terms of society, the company aligns the sustainable interests of employees with those of the business, adhering to a “lean” model that is both professional and human-centered, while enhancing employees’ moral values and vision. As for governance, the company focuses on applying digital technology in farm management to meet global standards, systematizing technical management and risk control processes to effectively respond to fluctuations in human resources and climate change.

Similarly, Nguyen Viet Vi, Chairman and Director of Phuoc Thien Trade and Service Cooperative in Hung Phuoc commune, said the cooperative is developing new crop varieties and investing in agricultural economics. The cooperative cultivates red-flesh jackfruit (PT79), S’tiêng milk guava, bamboo shoots, purple banana, etc. It focuses on ESG development. Currently, the cooperative directly cultivates about 150 hectares of jackfruit and other crops, and links with 90 farming households to grow about 900 hectares of jackfruit.

As the advisory body for science, technology, and innovation, Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DoST) has always focused on promoting digital application, digital transformation, and product traceability in enterprises, associated with adopting ESG criteria to develop a transparent, green, and sustainable production-consumption value chain. This is also a concrete step toward realizing the province’s orientation of green economy, circular economy, and knowledge economy.

Developing environmentally friendly product lines

Recently, the Provincial People’s Committee issued annual plans to implement the program for energy-efficient usage and sustainable production and consumption. In 2025, one of the plan’s objectives is to promote production and consumption grounded in innovation and creativity, develop and popularize sustainable production-consumption models, and boost domestic production and consumption, encouraging sustainable lifestyles and moving toward developing a circular economy in the industrial sector of Dong Nai.

Sustainable development is becoming an inevitable trend of the era and a key orientation in the socio-economic strategy of the country in general and Dong Nai province in particular. In the context of globalization, climate change, and increasing competition, applying product traceability not only helps enterprises make production and business processes transparent and protect consumers’ rights, but also increases value, reputation, and integration capabilities into international supply chains.

Additionally, ESG is becoming a global benchmark for evaluating the capacity and sustainability level of enterprises. Practicing ESG helps enterprises optimize resources, manage risks, enhance brand image, and create opportunities for them to access green financial sources, with the aim of harmonizing economic efficiency and social responsibility.

Tran Ngoc Thuong, founder and Director of Eco Polymers Company Limited (located in Ho Nai IP, Ho Nai ward, Dong Nai province), said that the company’s manufacturing plant is currently applying global recycling standards. Accordingly, the factory ensures traceability from imported raw materials to finished products, with all generated waste being recycled. The company’s main product line consists of elastic materials used in sports footwear, mattresses, and other environmentally friendly materials and products. It focuses on adopting new technologies and upgrading production equipment to improve material quality and meet the increasing demands of customers. In addition, the company emphasizes ESG practices to optimize its production process toward sustainability.
