Calibration flight inspection at Long Thanh Airport completed

On October 30, calibration flight inspection at Long Thanh International Airport (airport) was completed, according to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM).

According to VATM, during the entire calibration flight inspection period from September 26, 2025 to October 29, 2025, the Calibration Flight Inspection Center completed all calibration flight inspection contents and flight procedure evaluation flights at Long Thanh Airport. This activity has both technical significance and special legal value, determining the overall acceptance of the project.

According to the Prime Minister's directive, Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport Project must be basically completed, ensuring the standards and conditions for inauguration on December 19, 2025. To meet this flight schedule, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has coordinated with VATM, Air Traffic Management Technical Company Limited (ATTECH), and Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to implement flight inspection, calibration, and flight procedure evaluation at Long Thanh Airport to fully meet international standards for safety and operational efficiency. This is also a key, mandatory technical task before the airport officially goes into commercial operation as expected in the first half of 2026.

According to VATM, at the end of the flights, experts from the Czech Republic's Air Navigation Academy, the partner implementing and performing calibration flight inspection at Long Thanh Airport, highly appreciated that the required standards of the radar system and ADS-B (a surveillance system where aircraft/vehicles determine their position based on information from navigation systems) all met or exceeded the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Europe, fully meeting the conditions for commercial operation at regional and international levels.

The completion of technical flight inspection and calibration at Long Thanh Airport marks an important inspection step before the airport is put into commercial operation.
