In the comprehensive renewal phase of Dong Nai province, Tan An commune has emerged as a bright spot at the grassroots level. This land, rich in revolutionary tradition, is asserting a new phase of development with a dual goal: strengthening a clean and strong Party organization while promoting socio-economic growth in a green, sustainable, and modern direction. This represents the political determination of the entire Party organization and the shared aspiration of the local political system and the people of Tan An commune.

Bui Hoang Quyet, Head of the Front Work Committee of Hamlet 3, Tan An commune, shared: “We always consider being close to and understanding the people as our key measure of success. Movements such as Green Sunday, the campaign to build great solidarity houses, or calls for land donations to build roads all stem from the people’s real needs. That’s why when people agree and join efforts, anything can be achieved. This shows that skillful mass mobilization is the bridge that brings the Party’s guidelines and resolutions into daily life, turning them into concrete actions.”

Economic growth aligned with environmental protection

The key highlight in Tan An’s development strategy lies in integrating Party building with the mission of green growth. Beyond striving to meet economic targets, the commune also takes the lead in environmental protection programs and building a countryside landscape that is bright, green, clean, and beautiful.

Nguyen Dinh Tan, Head of the Front Work Committee of Binh Chanh hamlet, Tan An commune, shared: “Our hamlet clearly defines that building a model residential area must begin with the living environment. From mobilizing residents to pave sidewalks, and plant trees in front of their homes, to installing security cameras - all initiatives have received strong support from the community. However, these efforts are not imposed; but rather discussed, implemented, and monitored by the people themselves. As a result, the hamlet has become increasingly spacious, clean, and secure.”

In the picture of green development, the youth of Tan An also leave a distinct mark. The Commune Youth Union has become a pioneering force in digital transformation – a key driver for sustainable development.

Nguyen Tan Thi, Secretary of the Tan An Commune Youth Union, said: “As part of our youth initiatives, we’ve organized activities to help residents complete online administrative procedures, install the VNeID application, and use online public services. Additionally, we’ve built fanpages and online information channels to promote policies and legal updates, bringing technology closer to rural communities. Our project to digitize information about the Temple of General Vo Nguyen Giap, located in the commune, has been a highlight, showcasing the creativity and determination of local youth. This practical action has created historical and cultural value that helps educate younger generations.”

Not only the youth but also the veterans of Tan An commune play a pivotal role in building the Party and the political system. With the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, members of the Veterans Association set shining examples of dedication, responsibility, and integrity in community service.

In Tan An commune, there are 2 entities participating in the OCOP Program (One Commune, One Product), with 3 products certified as 3-star OCOP standards, including: Vinh Tan guava by Vinh Tam Agricultural – Service – Trade Cooperative, and mango smoothie and pomelo juice by Canh Dong Vang Co., Ltd.

Dao Binh Xuyen, Vice Chairman of the Tan An Commune Veterans Association, shared: “With the belief that as long as we have strength, we must continue to contribute, many of our members, though advanced in age, still actively participate in community supervision, grassroots mediation, and encourage their children and grandchildren to follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws. In particular, the Veterans Association has always taken the lead in movements to maintain security and order and build a cultured lifestyle in residential areas. The close companionship and dedication of the veterans have helped spread the revolutionary spirit and strengthen the people’s trust in the Party’s leadership.”

Developing agriculture toward organic production

With favorable land and climate conditions, key crops, and especially a dynamic, hardworking, and eager-to-learn farming community, many farmers in Tan An commune have boldly applied high technology in the production of rice, hydroponic vegetables, and fruit trees in recent years, achieving significant results. However, agricultural production remains somewhat fragmented and small-scale, and some technological applications are not yet fully integrated.

Tran Xuan Hong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Tan An commune, said: “To overcome current limitations, our orientation toward 2030 focuses on developing concentrated production zones applying high technology, establishing hydroponic vegetable and organic farming areas with traceable origins. We also aim to help farmers access smart agriculture, promote digital transformation in production management, and expand e-commerce consumption channels. In addition, the association will encourage the establishment of new-style cooperatives, upgrade existing cooperative groups, and create opportunities to connect with businesses and banks. We will also strengthen technical training, advocate for expanding green credit, and invest in transportation, irrigation, and electricity infrastructure to support production.”

Thanks to broad consensus and comprehensive efforts, Tan An’s landscape has changed remarkably in recent years. Inter-hamlet roads have been paved; electricity, water, schools, and health stations have been upgraded; and living standards have steadily improved. Over the past 5 years alone, the commune has mobilized tens of billions of VND from socialized resources to develop infrastructure, enhance social welfare, and reduce the poverty rate to below 0.5%.

3 KEY TASKS FOR BUILDING A GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE TAN AN COMMUNE:

First, the commune will focus on building a truly clean and strong Party and political system. It will also develop a contingent of cadres and Party members with competence, integrity, courage, and creativity – those who dare to think and act, with the will and aspiration to contribute. The communal authorities will work to establish a professional, law-governed, modern, transparent, and people-centered administration.

Second, there’s a need to accelerate the economic restructuring toward increasing the proportion of industry, commerce, and services; attract investment into industrial zones and clusters within the commune. Focus is placed on mobilizing and effectively using resources to invest in transport infrastructure development.

Third, the commune will gradually improve the living environment and enhance people’s quality of life, ensuring social welfare and security. Priority will be given to promoting the application of science and technology, accelerating digital transformation, and advancing toward a digital society, digital government, and digital economy that serve the people.

From Tan An’s practical experience, it can be affirmed that Party building is the foundation and the core of every success. Without a clean and strong Party organization, it is difficult to mobilize the people’s strength or implement green and sustainable development programs in a synchronized way. In reality, wherever Party cells are strong, movements thrive, and people unite. Conversely, where Party organizations are weak or lack cohesion, even good policies struggle to take root in real life.

Entering the 2025–2030 term, Tan An commune has set the goal of building a clean and strong Party organization, achieving rapid, green, and sustainable socio-economic development, improving people’s living standards, and maintaining national defense and security. To realize this goal, the commune identifies 2 breakthrough areas: developing transportation and digital infrastructure, and building a capable, courageous, and high-performing contingent of cadres and Party members who can meet new requirements.

Tan An commune is taking steady steps on its new path of development. From a land rich in revolutionary tradition, Tan An has been rising strongly, affirming its position in the province’s renewal journey.
