Train tickets for Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Year of the Horse 2026 to go on sale from September 20, 2025

On September 15, Nguyen Xuan Canh, Head of Bien Hoa Railway Transport and General Services Business Center (Bien Hoa Station), announced: To meet the high travel demand of people during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the railway sector will officially open the sale of Tet train tickets from 8:00 a.m. on September 20, 2025.

Accordingly, the railway sector will operate 55 trains daily with more than 800 carriages, offering around 330,000 tickets for passengers traveling across the network. The service period will run from February 3 to March 8, 2026 (corresponding to the 16th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the 20th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

Tet train tickets can be purchased through the following official railway channels: websites www.dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, vetauonline.vn, and giare.vetau.vn; ticket counters at stations; authorized ticket agents under the railway’s management; mobile apps and e-wallets such as Momo, VNPay, ZaloPay, and ViettelPay; banking applications (Smart Banking); train ticket apps on mobile devices; or via the ticket hotlines of Saigon Station at 1900 1520 and Hanoi Station at 1900 0109.

The railway sector will offer several fare discounts during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) transport period, including: 5–15% off for passengers who purchase tickets at least 10 days in advance and travel distances of over 900 km; 3% off for passengers departing from Saigon Station on February 15, 2026 (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month) and traveling more than 1,000 km; 2–12% off for group purchases of 11 or more passengers, depending on group size, booking time, and travel itinerary; 5% off return fares for round-trip passengers; and 10–20% off for students enrolled in professional secondary schools and vocational training institutions.
